If you’re considering laser hair removal, your first step is to find someone who’s qualified to perform the procedure.

Laser Hair Removal, Permanent hair removal, Laser treatment
Laser hair removal is a fast-growing procedure that’s helping thousands of people get rid of unwanted hair. The latest procedure uses intensed pulsed light (IPL) to destroy hair follicles and prevent the growth of follicles and hair for an extended period of time. Laser hair removal has been so popular because of its preciseness and success rates. If you’re considering laser hair removal, your first step is to find someone who’s qualified to perform the procedure. It’s important that they be qualified and experienced to provide a high-quality procedure.
Finding Laser Hair Removal Specialists
Locating your laser hair removal specialist is not difficult. Make sure he or she is Board Certified in Dermatology. If more than one specialist is working at the office, find out if each is certified. If another member of the doctor’s staff will be performing the procedure, that person should be a registered nurse or licensed physician to ensure proper care and use of the laser equipment. The facility where your procedure will be performed should be clean and professional. Ask for a tour of the facility and where your procedure will take place if possible. Take special care in choosing your specialist because laser hair removal is a medical procedure, and should be treated as such.
State Requirements for Laser Hair Removal
Each state varies in how laser hair removal can be performed. You’ll need to know what your state requires and make sure your specialist understands this as well. The state requirements are broken down into four categories. Each category specifies how and by whom the procedure can be performed within that particular state. A brief explanation of each category is below.
1) Physician Only: A medical doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) must actually fire the laser. Then, the doctor may ask a PA, RN or other licensed professional to use laser during the hair removal procedure.
2) Direct: The laser can be fired by a medical or non-medical professional (according to the state’s requirements), but the professional must remain under the direct supervision of the MD or DO, and also use the license and practice of the doctor.
3) Supervision: A medical or non-medical professional can fire the laser and perform the procedure under the supervision of a MD or DO. Depending on the state, the physician might or might not be present when the laser hair removal procedure is performed.
4) N/A: The state has no official requirements for laser hair removal procedures.

Once you develop discolored patches on skin called melasma, removing them is a slow process. But they can be removed and you can get your young look again. As I had said in my another article, we get discoloration of the skin because of hormonal changes, sun rays and use of some photo toxic cosmetics. Let us now find out how to remove this discoloration.
Protect skin from sun-
Keep sun away as much as possible. Use a high SPF, preferably 30, sunscreen regularly. Wear a wide brimmed hat and keep yourself covered with proper clothing. Use big sunglasses that can also give shadow to part of cheeks.
Bleach the skin-
The next step is to use bleaches. You will get prescription bleaches as well as OTC. Consult your doctor about that. Hydroquinone is the most common bleach, but some countries don’t allow its use as bleach. Use Kojic acid or Azelaic Acid bleaches in its place. Use products enriched with Vitamin A derivatives, Vitamin C an other anti oxidants and AHAs. AHAs will peel away the superficial coloration from the epidermis.
Skin Bleaching and precautions-
Don’t use bleach after the color has returned to original. Don’t use bleach on normal skin otherwise it will bleach that part and make it look lighter.

Vintage Meets Modern: A Classic New Look
Retro glam looks of the past are back in a big way-and not just on runway supermodels. Fashionable women across America are sporting a multitude of styles from previous decades, but with a few contemporary twists.
Try these cost-effective tips from celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose. He can help you join the vintage-meets-modern revolution.
Makeup? Make down-Update your look by eradicating that made-up look. Rather than using both a foundation and bronzer, stick to mineral powder and blush. Blush adds warmth to the face and emphasizes facial contours. Add a subtle touch of color to the high edge of the cheek-bones and blend to create a natural-looking blush on the cheeks. To create a look that screams vintage glamor, experiment with this season’s popular apricot or pale pink hues.
Lighten to brighten-This season, less really is more. Ditch the hard shades and harsh liner and stick to light, barely-there colors with a subtle shimmer to instantly brighten your gaze. To achieve a glamorous, wide-eyed look with instant sex appeal, apply an extra coat of mascara to the outer corners of lashes. Feeling ultra-chic? Trade your traditional mascara for one in dark purple or sage.
Create that perfect pout-Both beautiful and daring, bold, vintage lip color is the easiest way to add a punch of drama to any ensemble. For a show-stopping effect, make sure your pearly whites are up to date by using Crest Whitestrips Supreme, the highest whitening power available in a strip. Sold exclusively at dental offices, these strips deliver dramatic, professional results that are first visible after only three days. The strips enable you to whiten to your desired level at home, through the help of your dentist.
Do a new ‘Do-Turn heads at any party by mixing a simple, classic hairstyle or cut with ultra-modern hues or low-lights. For longer-haired femmes, try a bouffant or a sleek 1940s-style high ponytail. For those with short hair, experiment with ’20s-style face-framing waves.
About comercial tanning beds

What is a Commercial Tanning Bed?
If you are looking to invest in a Tanning salon then you will need to purchase several commercial tanning beds. A commercial tanning bed is not the same as your in-home consumer tanning bed and there are at least two different styles to choose from.
What is a Commercial Tanning Bed?
A commercial tanning bed is a tanning unit that is designed to withstand the constant demands placed on it by repeatable use. Unlike a home unit these commercial tanning beds will be used several times a day. Commercial is generally more powerful for example if a home tanning bed has the same number of lamps, for example 24, then the voltage may be lower. Commercial tanning beds will typically use a 220v unlike the home version which will tend to use 110v.
Are there Different Types?
A commercial tanning bed can be found in two types. You have your typical tanning bed where you lay down during your tanning session. Then you have an upright unit also referred to as a stand-up commercial tanning bed. This type of unit gives you the ability to stand during your tanning session which tends to run around 8 min. This style also gives you the option of adding a dressing room to it so you can undress and tan all in the same unit.
The Benefits of Using a Commercial Tanning Bed
Ask any dermatologist what is the worst thing you can do to your skin and they will tell you exposing your skin to the sun’s UV rays. By using a commercial tanning bed you can get skin that looks sun-kissed without the need to expose yourself to the damage that tanning in the sun can do.
By using a commercial tanning bed will also save you time. Unlike laying in the hot sun for hours, each tanning session on a commercial tanning bed will only run from 8 minutes to 15 minutes. The time for each session depends upon how many lamps are on the tanning bed and how many watts are generated during the session. So getting rich looking skin can actually be done during a lunch hour or quickly after work on your way home.
Does a Commercial Tanning Bed Come With a Warranty?
Almost every manufacture offers a warranty. The industry standard seems to be a 90-day on lamps, parts and labor. Then you have an additional 5 year limited warranty for manufacturing defects. Some manufactures cover other charges such as an extended labor-only warranty for the first 6 months.
Is their Financing Available for a Commercial Tanning Bed?
Yes there is financing available. Almost every manufacture offers financing for their tanning beds. Most offer a lease with an optional buy out at the end. This is a great way to go because you need to only come up with a first, last and security payment which is usually a very small payment. Then at the end of the leasing period you typically have a dollar buy out which means your last payment will be for $1 and the commercial tanning bed is now yours.

Hollywood Heart Attack: A Potentially Deadly Myth
It is often said that a very important matter is “serious as a heart attack.” This is rather ironic, since many Americans don’t take heart attacks seriously enough-by knowing the warning signs or how to respond.
About 1.2 million Americans a year suffer a heart attack and more than 40 percent of them die. Nearly half of all heart attack deaths occur before the person reaches the hospital. Many lives could be saved if victims received clot-dissolving drugs and other artery-opening treatments within one hour of symptom onset.
Shockingly, most heart attack victims wait two or more hours after symptom onset before seeking medical help because they don’t recognize the true warning signs-expecting a heart attack to be sudden and intense, like a so-called Hollywood Heart Attack, where a person clutches his or her chest and falls over as often seen in the movies and television-and don’t realize the importance of calling 911.
Here’s why every second counts: The heart is a muscular organ that works 24 hours a day, pumping blood with oxygen and other nutrients to the body. Blood is supplied to the heart through coronary arteries. A heart attack occurs when the supply of blood to an area of the heart muscle is blocked, usually by a clot in the coronary artery. The longer an artery is blocked and the blood supply is cut off, the more heart muscle will die and be replaced by scar tissue. Depending on the extent of heart muscle damage, a heart attack can be deadly or disabling.
Treatment
Treatments for a heart attack work to open the blocked artery to restore blood flow as quickly as possible to prevent or limit heart muscle damage and to lessen the chance of a repeat attack. To be most effective, heart attack treatments should be given as soon as possible-within one hour of symptom onset.
Medications include:
• Fibrinolytic, or “clot-dissolving,” therapy: prevents or limits heart muscle damage by dissolving artery-blocking clots.
• Aspirin: acts to thin the blood and lessen the size of the blood clot during a heart attack.
• Nitrates (including nitroglycerin): relax blood vessels and stop chest pain.
• Beta blockers: reduce nerve impulses to the heart and blood vessels, making the heart beat more slowly and with less force.
Doctors may also perform a special procedure-either during a heart attack or afterwards-to improve blood flow to the heart muscle when coronary arteries are narrowed or blocked. These procedures include coronary angioplasty and coronary artery bypass surgery.
Act in Time to Heart Attack Signs, a public education campaign of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, is being revitalized this year through the sponsorship of PDL BioPharma, Inc. The goals of the campaign are to educate Americans about the warning signs of a heart attack and to urge them to call 911 immediately.
Depression: Medication May Cause Sexual Side Effects
When you think about side effects of medication you may think of headaches or some stomach disorders, but you never thought about sexual problems, because for some it is too much when you have depression.

depression symptoms
When you think about side effects of medication you may think of headaches or some stomach disorders, but you never thought about sexual problems, because for some it is too much when you have depression.
Under an article published in the journal Psychiatric Annals, at least 50 per cent of people that take antidepressants in the class of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) may experience sexual side effects, such as inability to become aroused and difficulty achieving orgasm.
The reported incidence of sexual dysfunction (SD) with different antidepressants, for instance, varies quite markedly, due in part to the methodologies used for collecting such information.
Researchers of a recently published study, in which patients received newer antidepressants, note that the reported incidence of sexual side effects in the product labeling for the new medication is around 15 per cent, but when asked directly, up to 70 per cent of patients report SD.
The cause of this problem is not really clear yet, but if you were diagnosed to take antidepressants for your depression and you have experienced sexual side effects as the above mentioned, be sure to tell your doctor about it.
The importance of doing this is that your doctor may adjust your medication regimen or change your medication if it is possible, so you will be able to continue taking the antidepressant needed without sacrificing your sexual pleasure and activity.
This matter, however, is not as simple as seem at first sight, since depressed patients with sexual dysfunctions caused by their medication lead them to non-compliance with antidepressant pharmacotherapy which may also complicate their depression state.

Do you want your tattoo removed, the laser way?
Laser tattoo removal has been touted as the best treatment for unwanted tattoos. So it is quite natural for you to opt for it if you want to get rid of that tattoo. But do you know the nitty-gritty involved? This article is an attempt to make you aware of many aspects related to laser tattoo removal.
Keywords:

Laser tattoo removal
Laser tattoo removal works on the principle of selective thermolysis where the targeted tattoo is exposed to the energy delivered by laser. This energy exposure results in selective destruction of the foreign pigment while ensuring minimum damage to the surrounding skin.
Lasers can be applied to remove all sorts of tattoos be it professional, amateur, cosmetic, medicinal, and traumatic tattoos. The different colors present in the tattoos may respond differently to laser tattoo removal, but they do get removed to quite some extent. Thus laser tattoo removal presents itself as a non-invasive and effective treatment for unwanted tattoos.
The right candidate
Anyone with a need to remove an undesired tattoo can opt for laser tattoo removal. It is not the person’s physical characteristics which decide the extent of removal but the colors used. Though most tattoo colors can be eliminated or lightened more or less, skin colored tattoos may undergo irreversible ink darkening. This may be the case with white, pink, flesh-toned and light brown tattoo inks. Also red ink tattoos may turn black. In these situations do ask or say yes to a test dose.
Some Facts
Although, laser tattoo removal for sure is the best solution to the unwanted tattoo woes; it has got its warts which need to be kept in mind. Some of them are:
1. Since results are color dependent total elimination is not possible, however you can be sure of dramatic lightening. Amateur black tattoos respond more quickly than professional and multicolored tattoos.
2. To get maximum benefit multiple sessions are usually required.
3. Doubly treated tattoos may require additional treatments.
4. If the tattoo is multicolored, it would require exposure to lasers of several different wavelengths because of the selective absorption characteristics of a particular color.
Types of lasers used
Q-switched Ruby Laser (QSRL)
It is a red colored laser which works best for dark blue and black inks. With tattoos in these colors, results have been exceptional. So far as red and yellow color is concerned results have been less than satisfactory. The response of green tattoos is variable. The QSRL is also effective in treating medicinal and traumatic tattoos.
Q-switched Nd:YAG
This laser works both for amateur and professional tattoos of all colors. But best results have been observed in case of black tattoos, as is the case with the ruby laser. Moreover this laser works quite well for darker skinned individuals. Also unlike QSRL, which is ineffective in case of red and yellow color, Q-switched Nd:YAG is highly effective for these colors in frequency doubled setting (532 nm).
Q-switched Alexandrite Laser
This laser is quite like QSRL in treating tattoos especially when treating green tattoos. However up to 50% of patients can experience textural changes in their skin after treatment.
Flashlamp-pumped Pulsed Dye Laser
This laser does not penetrate deep into skin because of its wavelength which is 510 nm. Hence it is not so useful when it comes to deeper tattoos. However, it is effective for the treatment of brightly colored tattoos such as those that use red, purple, and orange inks. The major side effect of this laser is bruising.
Post-procedural Care
After the procedure some swelling and blistering is commonplace, so is crusting. So don’t panic they will go by themselves after some time. Do take good care of the wound to aid the healing process and to prevent infection.
To ensure fast and safe healing, make use of prescribed antibiotic ointment with regular dressing changes. If you feel the need of alleviating any resultant pain, consult the physician to recommend you some pain killer. Also avoid exposure to sun to prevent tanning.
Conclusion
Laser tattoo removal has brought an effective, less painful solution to people who want to get their tattoos removed or faded.
